This morning I gave myself every excuse I possibly could to skip my workout but I finally dragged myself out to Heartbreak Ridge for another 5+ mile run up and down the hills. I put my headphones on and started blasting Billy Idol’s “Dancing with myself.” If that doesn’t pump you up when you’re working out then I don’t know what will.
Unfortunately I ran low on battery and lost my signal so that was the only song I got to hear on my run. So now I was running with myself.
It was a beautiful morning to be out. The sky was clear, and I had a great view of downtown Los Angeles today, and I could even see the Ocean. Unfortunately, my camera is not as good as my eye so I can’t share with you what I actually saw.
But still it was a great morning to be out. There were many times during my run today that I had to say a prayer and Thank God for letting me be out on such a nice morning.
I got some good practice in today. I walked all the uphills, even though my legs kept wanting to take off in a run, and I blasted down all the hills. I usually try to jog down the hills but this time I just cut loose and let the hills guide me down. There was one part where I was jogging through the trees at full speed and I felt like I was in a werewolf movie where I’m a werewolf but I still don’t know I’m a werewolf and I’m having crazy dreams about running in the forest.
In other words, it was a pretty awesome run. Today’s run seemed easier than it did the other day but it was still pretty hard. I’m glad I don’t have to do another 95 miles today.
Also, I had an oatmeal raisin cookie with my lunch today but I don’t think I need to worry about the calories…
Still, I think I’d rather eat the deer: PROTEIN!!!
